Started my 3D background

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks good. Just wondering why you have covered only part of the tank and not the whole backside? Loving the new colours

I decided aginst covering the the whole backside of the tank, because it is a square tank and it would take up to much area/volume. I am already losing 20 liters as it is. I am also going to have natural rock and drift wood in the tank. That will take up space as well

Don't sweat it if its too much trouble i'll just ask at my local bunnings. Again great job mate.

Sorry for the thousand questions but i read back through and you said you found a clear waterproofing for concrete ponds. Just wanted to find out what the product names is. If you not guessed i've started collecting bits to start a 3D background. Going to try a small one first for my daughters gold fish tank. Then after learning my lessions have a go a bigger scale one.
The product is called Micara Pond Paint it is made by holdfast (they are on the web) The only thing is that it's tranlucent not clear which could affect colours

ok, the first color scheme, i think if u wouldve thrown in some red..and maybe even a little black...it wouldve clicked....
second color scheme...looks awesome man, great job..
wish i had a bit of handy man in me i would try and make my own..yours looks impeccable for a diy project...congrats ..hope your fish enjoy it as much as everyone else has lol

I just read the full spec sheet on the pond sealer and it won't work for the back ground because it goes milky white when completly immersed

I guess its back to the drawing board for me i've started a small 3d background trial for my daughters tank. Completed the 2nd layer of cement going to get some oxide to colour then work out a sealer. If you have any luck please let me know and i'll do the same.
