Ah fair enough, thought it was bigger at first and would have suggested a pickerel but obviously that's not viable in a small hex..
I do think an aggressive , slightly overstocked sunfish community like people do with CA cichlids to keep aggression down would look sick though

Looking at the pics, I might say the lighter one is a young northern pike and the smaller a grass. The spots on the side along with the longer snout suggests pike. Keep us updated as he gets bigger. I'm curious.

hook and line on my Trout rod....size #14 hook, and tiny pieces of worm. That's how I get all my baitfish....I even catch 2-3" Shiners like that
