hey just starting a 55 first tank what are some awesome looking starters that wont be to aggressive so wont kill smaller non cichlid tank inhabitants. Thanks for the help guys

Yeah kinda have to know the tank mates. African's are one of the easiest and hardiest cichlids around.
Yea but Africans will kill livebearers and fancy goldfish and such. Anything that is slow or can't defend itself. I prefer not to add cichlids to community tanks. Although there are more docile species, you can never trust a cichlid that is ready to spawn.

my tank is not set at all to tell the truth. Ive just recently gotten in to fish and were looking for some nice looking easily managed fish to git my barrings. I want a community tho not just a pair or such.
Not a lot of cichlids fit the bill mate, the issue is even if they're less aggressive cichlids, most would see the non-cichlids as food anyways, and go for them.
I have been helping him and narrowed him down to 6 red head tapajos and a a single Acarichthys Heckelli from Rapps for his 55 and maybe 3 or so pictus cats. Adds alot of life and color to get him going
well that is reasonable but could I just stock two diffident types of cichlids what are two hearty beautiful types
Angelfish are good if you have community fish. If you have really small fish they might try to eat what fits in their mouth but they are really peaceful. Dont get that big either
