What would a good starter ray be a teacup or a motoro? i recently had a "teacup" stingray but he unfortunately passed away. i did all the research i could before bought him but i guess i messed up somewhere. i want to give it another shot but this time i want to do it 100% right i don't want to kill another poor stingray. can anyone give me advice on the easiest stingray to take care of

Motorro is a great starter ray, just be aware that they get HUGE!

motoro....

Species doesn't always mean the hardest rays.
Retics (P. reticulated rays, comonly sold as Tea-cups) are the cheapest to buy, but they just usually come in to you local fish store in rough shape, just when buying a ray--ask to see it eat first off (when a ray isn't eating, it is sick or stressed), if it eats and you buy it, when you get it acclimated in it's new home, feed it often and do water changes. Water changes can't be expressed enough! Rays poop a ton load and most filtration can't handle it, especially when a ray is 1st introduced (the filtration has to catch up to the bio-load). Clean water is the key with rays---low ammonia, nitrates and nitrites is the concern, don't worry too much about pH fluctuation, they can handle it, unless it is drastic.
