hmm i dont know..but i seen a little live worm crawl into a hole of the light rock today when i turned the light on...and some little pink furry thing is growing on the live rock..im not changing the water yet...i dont know what to do..i wanted to do a major water change and put in RO water mixed with salt and redo the cycle
you dont need to re-do the cycle hun. the worm is porb a bristol worm they seem to survive everything!
ok so you've put a raw prawn/shrimp in the filter in some netting? you should see ammonia after 2-3 days ..... are you testing properly? shake them really well before you do them.
ok so the ammonia should go up to like 4.0 or 5.0 in a week or about 10days ...my ammonia only went up to 3.0 before the nitrite started showing.
so once the ammonia is peaking you should see the nitrite....the blue turn purpley..i still kept the prawn in which was now turning a nice black colour and smelt bad...but thats good!
so then when i my nitrite was at 2.0 and the ammonia was going down i took out the prawn and then 2 weeks later .....
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 80 plus
then i did a 90% water change....you can do this with your RO water. jobs a good'en
my water went cloudy when the ammonia was about to bloom
