Here is the setup of the store i think i want to do

I am going to make a book of all the fish in the store(like a 3 ring binder) so customers can look through it and see how hardy or wht experience u need for the fish.

here is a example

Picture will be here

Fish-Fancy guppy
Care level- beginner
foods- flakes
breeding-live bearer
Gender differences- male has a bigger tail, females have no skirt
Tank size- 10 gallons minimum
Cost- 1$
That is my example
I will have the prices also written on the tanks in car window marker thats is removable. I heard a great idea from another person on mfk.

You take a air compressor and have pvc pipe running from it and use the air compressors air to power ur air filters in your tanks.

I mite also buy used tanks from local if i have room. And i wld store them in the back to be resold. And imma have quarintine tanks in the back so ppl dont see any sick shipments. And i mite also have specials on like mondays(mollie monday not always but sometimes).

What are your guys thoughts about this? Also the name mite be Somethings Fishy(with a big arowanna cartoon behind it)

well i got a couple years i think imma go to college in business and another mayb.
And Im probly gonna get a black berry or black jack so i can always be rdy for something. And I mite do house calls like if someone has a problem. Like on a monday or a couple of days during the week if u have any problems ill go to ur house if its close engh.

Well if you plan on opening a store. All I can say is Location, Location, Location!

You need a large enough population to support your buisness but hopefully in an area without a lot of other shops around. That would be competion for the same market niche and is rough sometimes.

As for the air system. My family used to raise fish so we had many tanks. But we used a real buget system. Air driven sponge filters. We used pvc along the walls or racks and connected tubing where ever we needed it.

The air was provided by one of these home made goofy looking things.

That is an Electirc motor driving an air conditioner pump from a car or truck. BUT! these are no oil required units. Normal air conditioning units require oil that is in the refrigerant system. These say right on them "No Oiling"

Very handy. Very cheap.

Just plan things out and save up some cash for your start up capitol.

I think imma do that thnx for idea. And there is a main street in my town. Its in Salem ohio if anyone has ever been there but i may find a new location over time.

Im not gonna carry snakes but i will carry all other reptiles. And wht do you think of the dubia roach breeding for reptile food and to sell

why not put all the saltwater stuff in one area and you can have one big saltwater filtration setup behind them

I would recommend adding a much larger area for equipment. That is where your high margins are going to be. It is hard enough to make money with a fish store, but even harder if you are trying to make the money on the fish alone.

In reply to your question on my profile. That air system will support quite a few tanks just doing air driven sponge filters. We had 20-30 and it was almost too much half the time.
