starting a reef tank

i got some pylops yesterday the guy said there easy so i put in my 35g tank to see what it would do i got some live rock and there was a brown thing that much look like a long haired pylop and it three times the size when i frist seen it. so i thought id try this frag only 20 bucks and when i got it home . the one end was lose so i pulled it off and made two ,but do i have to glue to live rock or will it attach it self?

they all attach to the rock eventually, weather you want to wait or not is up to you. its a PITA if its in a high flow zone or animals hit it.
 
I have a 175 reef tank and I never got purple in my tank and nitrate under control until I build an algee turff scrubber, it easy to make and cheap too. just search MFK under algee
