Starting a wet dry

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
U know the "U tubes" on your overflow (the thing that hangs on the back of tank) you have to fill those with water to start your siphon.

and btw those round sponges go in the back of the prefilter, around the pipes the hoses the water goes down. ill find a pic for ya. heres how i prime my U tube. first remove the clear overflowbox. now take the U tube. i plug one end with a round cork bobber and submerge the tube, getting all the air out. then i leave the unplugged end in the water and slowly place the corked end into the back of the prefilter. i get someone to turn on the pump and simultaneously unplug the cork. works every time. now place the overflow box back on and ajust your sump water level.

toxic know whats up he will post picks

ok here ya go. I'm not that good at giving directions so work with me here.

also the sponges go on the down tubes in the back of the overflow.I myself do not use the sponges. they clog too quickly. pratcice makes perfect

yup forget those sponges, they clog way too quick. toxic offered a different way to start the siphon, both will work.

also watchout for an air pocket from not sticking the airline past the halfway point make sure you get a solid syphon..

yeah that is the only way I know how. It can be a bastard at first but once you get the hang of it, it is a breeze

it is easy... I learned and was only giving a quick run trough by the LFS. And I never had a wet/dry before.
