Starting All Over......

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I've had to start from scratch 3 time since 2005. The last time was really bad because i knew i wouldnt be able to get a hold of half the fish i had due to availability or restrictions here in the states.

i have never started over with any of my animals ...including fish... when i was younger i was on the constant move..... only a dog for a pet at that time..once married and settled if we moved everything moved with us.. i remenber my move from florida to

New york... in a rental truck... when we stopped for gas all you heard was cockadoodle doo...quack quack..ruff ruff..meow hello charlie and what ever else sounded off... a truck load... now i have so many i cannot move again...and i could never start over..i would not be this nutty the second time around..but no regrets.... i love them all..

In april I moved house, from an apartment to a house with a basement. Took 3 weeks of prep work and two truck loads to get our our stuff here and then another truck load for my fish stuff.

I disassembled 16 fish tanks ranging from 10g-268g holding almost 120 fish from tiger barbs to dats and peacock bass. During the move the movers broke my 268g and paid half to have it replaced so had to wait for that.

I now have set up 5 of the tanks again and plan on only resetting up 7 in total as the smaller tanks were more of a hassle.

So by October i will have a 310gal(made the 268gal a tad bigger after the break) with a sump, 180gal with sump, 145gal, 100gal, 55gal, 30gal and 25gal SW with sump.

Had to wait for vacation to start the work and i am going home for a visit so some of the tanks are not set up yet.

The move nearly killed me and it took me a while after all the fish were safely and happily in tanks to actually get down to the redecorating.

I don't envy anyone that has to move.
