I'm considering doing dwarf hair grass too, I heard it's easier. The lighting is 6,700 K which should be perfect, right?
yeah that lighting is just right. yeah never messed with hairgrass so i cant offer any input. i have read that it can be pretty hard to grow also. another option is e. tenellus

30 bucks? pm me links if u would. im not a big fan of co2 but if i could do a co2 system for that cost i would.

i saw an ehiem filter for 30 gallon tanks at a LFS. 160 bucks!! with no biomedia!! my filter suggestion is only $25 throu the link and has some bio media. but im not a big flow guy on my planted tanks. dont like the look.

any ways, could u pm the links to the equipmetn ur using? u have my interest now

I just spent a good while giving you the supplies and everything, but when I entered the attachments my browser quit on me...:irked::irked::irked:, maybe I'll try again later, but for now just look up how to do it on google, there are tons of articles and how-to's on it. Sorry...

what are you doing for dosing/fertilization? you need to have a full dosing routine if you want to be successful with HC. also, are you deadset on HC? from my experience this is a maintenance nightmare. i got it to grow fairly well but its VERY delicate. after a few months it started to uproot; i think because it got too thick. i ended up with balding patches as it was all floating around. in the end i ripped it out and started over with my foreground. may want to give glossostigma a try.

I'm going to pick up ADA Fertilizers Step 1 and Brighty K soon, so that's what I'll be using.

mdk, its all good. ill look later. lol

jcardona, i havnt tryd to grow HC without CO2. heck havnt tryd to grow HC or used c02 before. just have seen the prices of c02 and did a planted tank without it. i just dont like it! but if u can do c02(wich does help plants grow faster and lusher) for 30 bucks then i say go for it. iv just seen alot of co2 setups and its so much money when it is unnessecary. but again a co2 setup for 30 bucks......

when it is unnessecary.

this simply just isnt true. some plants will not grow w/o the addition of co2. sure you can get lots of plants to grow w/o it, but in certain setups its a requirement, not an option. as is the case with this setup

There is a nice sticky post in here about how the most important thing is limitations...whatever you have the most of...something along those lines. Tanks with good lighting may not need CO2 is the jist of the article. Guy has some pretty awesome tanks.
