befriend me i will give you al lthe tips you need ( a five gallon water change should do) save the over salty water and lower its salinity too saves money!!!

Awsome thanks NUBZ! So u think a chromie or two would be a good start once i bring up the temp a little bit and adjust the salinity?

Yeah, as far as damsels go the green chromis is good looking and gets along well with most other fish. One of the best starter fish, imo.

the pH is fine.. mine run about 7.8-7.9 for years now

I'm going to agree to disagree on that one. I lost a lion over the PH not being right, so I would at least get it up to where most articles suggest at the 8.2ish level. However, my other fish were fine at the lower 7.9 level it was at prior. Just suggesting that he should get the tank at a safe level for all potential fish.

So i should be shooting for 8.2 or aroound that ? in your opinion?

Yes, mine is 8.4, but that is just because of the specific buffer I use. Head over to your local pet store and grab some salt water ph buffer, most will get you in the right range for most all saltwater fish ;)

id like to make one of my tanks saltwater one day.. the fish are so colorful & bright!! i have a 55 brack right now. the salty water seems to evaporate much quicker than my other fw tanks.. good luck post pics when you get it stocked!!
