starting over in the 240...Rapps order help!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Choices, choices!

I would go with Festae, your fav amphilophus and parachromis.Umbies sound good too but You would need a bigger tank.

Here is how I am leaning. I already have a 5 inch Freddy. I was thinking I would keep him and add the following...

1-4 inch female festae
1-3 inch RTM
1-3 inch salvini
1 3 inch Umbee
1-3 inch grammode
1-4 inch Beani
1-3 inch cuban

Thoughts??

If you are placing an order with Rapps you should at least get some of his True GT's. Rare, beautiful and tougher than the Saums.

Why buy anymore real big fish like a an umbi, you sold your Rapp's dovi a while back. Just buy some small community cichlids, I think you had stated earlier you do not want to have a big tank with just a fish or two.

Is this the same 240 you were trying sell a while back?

I wouldn't get the umbee, it's just gonna end up getting too big and possibly killing some of your stock. What happened to all the other fish in the 240?

As per my title and first post I am thinking of starting over. My current stocklist is a mix of things I have picked up at various lfs. I will be trading them in to a lfs for credit. As to the umbee, I am aware of the size. We just completed the purchase of a new house and I have space for a fish room. I have multiple tanks. It is true that I would prefer a community to just a fish or two, but that was when I had just the 240. My situation has changed for the better!

Anyone else have thoughts on my proposed growout 240 tank?

Yes, but I had no buyers. Fortunately things have stabalized for me and I no longer need to sell it. Sadly, I did sell the Rapps dovii awhile back because for $$$ reasons I sold his 210. Things are good now and I am rolling on my fish room. I got the $8,000 tax credit from my home purchase.
