Starting Saltwater

Saltwater tank sizes are overrated, and have no basis in reality. Prime example are sharks. Your going to give a damsel a 30g tank (because for some reason people think this is the smallest tank you can do SW in) that tank is probably over 20x his length, and the same 20x his size (at least in height). Yet many people keep sharks in tanks where they can barely turn around.

The idea? Some sharks are sedentary during the day. You can keep a damsel in a 10g tank, and maybe something else.

You realize however that as a begginer, I am not going to recommend this. Stocking is a precarious process, and one must realize, and take into consideration each individual fish's needs, and their happiness.

I believe (know) that it can be done. Would a 20g be better? Yes.

Look into the small gobies and possible shrimp combos...these are cool things to watch that almost require a small tank.

If i could convince my parents to allow me to have a 15g or possibly a 20g, i would gladly do so, my dad seemed pretty interested in the biocube 14 if that would be more adequate. And the only gobies that caught my attention was the dracula, which is out of my reach money-wise.
