Starting to Curl

That is curl setting in. They don't always die right away . That looks like stress curl rather than death curl.
I've had my rays curl up like yours for weeks before dying due to unknown stressors . I've also seen the death curl with in hours rays fine than curls and dies .

Your ray is very stressed I've never been able to save one once I seem this but I prolonged one for three months a few years ago . You can try increasing temp to 85-87 . Add a bit of Epsom salt and pure salt . About a cup per 100 gallons .
The salt will help with stress and heal any internal wounds , the epsoms may help clear the ray out but unlikely as the fish needs to ingest it to really work well. And increase oxygen as you increase the heat.
Hope it works. Put some sand in the tank and lots of live black worms. The ray will eat at night when it wants. Keep lights out for a long time .

She looks super constipated to me.. she doesn't look disorientated ect... I would NOT use pimafix.. but I would consider a de-wormer(prazi-pro is what I use) or maybe epsomsalts ( something that could help with constipation) I'm fairly new to rays myself so you may want to wait for some more advise. But the videos and pics I"ve seen of death curling the rays look super disorientated usually and swim erratically... imo it's not the dreaded "death curl" but deffinately somethign that needs to be addressed asap.

GL !

i mentioned this in another post about her looking constipated and was unsure everyone told me i was over worrying....... and now im at this stage

Medicating that ray right now will almost guarantee its death quicker .

thanx for the advice mate! i have all ready raised temp to 84-86 (im in Celsius) and i already dosed tank with pimafix before anyone replied to me, also added some gudgeons and live blackworms from wot i seen shes avoiding the worms but she did take a chunk from a gudgeon almost immediately will add salt now aswell and try track down some sand to add so they are able to hide! many thanx i will keep this thread updated!

also adding the rock salt for stress am i ok with 1 teaspoon per gallon with the rays? and with the epsom salt should i dose in a seperate tank for short period or dose in there tank and do a wc?

5 days later and shes still alive, did 50% WC today no more dose of pimafix as of yet, just some salt and have been feeding live black worms, frozen blood worms and most of the 20 gudgeons have disappeared also threw some earthworms in today and she took to one straight away so in the ways of eating she seems to be getting better. I also added some sand left the lights off and had a sheet covering the tank to reduce as much stress as possible untill today will see how the reaction is, anyways thats update for now altho she still curling at least shes eating and still alive ................

I would cut out the bloodworms compleately with everything else your offering her.. ime bloodworms are more filler then nutrition and can cause constipation ect. Glad she's still alive... has she pooped at all? what does it look like?

she seems alot better over last 2 days i even had the lights on last night, will remove bloodworms and stick to just live blackworms and earthworms untill im happy that they are safe then will try convert to massivore or carni pellets, will post some pics n video soon, she has pooped so as far as i can tell she is getting better at the moment, still keeping close eye etc

Doesn't look like death curl to me. Does look a bit fat though. Might want to cut down on the feedings or reduce the amount. I had a similar situation with one of my rays. What worked well for me was dosing the tank with rock salt (1 tablespoon per 25 litres) and combining w some de-ionising salt per water change (same ratio). The de-ionising salt supposedly has magnesium and phosphate which is good for bloating/constipation. Also u might want to try throwing in some vegetation like cucumbers.
