Starving a Jardini

Nah, don't move it if it is finding the crickets; it will have to adjust to a new set of water parameters. Just put the crickets in every day if this is all he will eat. Don't stress him; he may want to hide. Mine is in floating plants at the top of the tank and just comes out to eat but he is growing.

OK! You didn't say it was a baby!!! That's very different. I agree, feed it whatever it will eat. You may want to remove anything (plants) at the top if the crickets hide to help him find the food easier. Sounds like he'll eat crickets but maybe it's hard to find and catch them. If you have plants floating on top, take them out of the way while you feed. That's good , at least he'll eat the crickets.......how's it doing today?

i havent seen it eat since friday. the crickets are right in front of it and still no sign of an appetite. most of the time the crickets just escape the tank because it takes too long to get to it. we shall see what happens. hopefully it makes it through this hunger strike if not i guess i guess ill just try again.

When my first one was being stubborn, it made a difference to COMPLETELY remove all food, wait a number of hours and then put the food back in. Aro's stalk their prey, give him 20 minuts, if show's any interest, let it floow the crickets. If he show no interest at all after 10 mintes or so, remove them and wait again. Taking the food all the way away made mine think twice about saying no, it worked. With a bigger fish, I'd say try it every 6-8 hrs, with yours I'd try maybe 3-4 hrs.
If it has eaten even a few crickets over the past few days, or anything for that matter, then it is getting nutrition.
How's it going this morning?

i tired beefheart because that is the only frozen food that i had but it didnt go for it. ill get some blood wormd today and try that. thanks for the input. ill keep you guys posted.

go to ur local market, and buy a lil bit of EVERYTHING lol. bring shrimp, market shrimp, smelt, silver sides. go to ur pet store, get baby pellets, sinking pellets, guppies, bloodworms. get him on something, and whatever he takes, continue to feed him that until he's about 8". then u can start the starving process to get him on something else.

Cut off all the fat and white crap then grind it, freeze it in baggies about .25" thick, then shave off frozen pieces really thin.
That's the only way my Aro will eat it, and he eats it good.
