starving an aro

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
:iagree: If it has eaten the pellets, it's just a matter of time until it acquires the taste... It's gonna be sooner than you think, though. ;)
BTW, post some pics of it for us. :D

Best regards.

Daniel.

i once starved an asian green aro for over 20 days and it only took a few pellets but it was around 9''.
for your 2''er i would not go more than a few days and would even feed it up for a while on food it eats before trying

he ate one pellet today but thats it. I think he'll come through. I will also try shrimp.

shrimp is the cheaper alternative to bull frog or feeder fish. :)

you can also try soaking your pellets in garlic extract before you throw them in the tank.

don't starve a 2" baby aro, that's just wrong. It needs all the food it can get now. Wait a few inches, then try and get it onto pellets. At 2" it'll eat bloodworms fine, then a couple more inches start it on chopped up mussels etc, and pellets.

3 days, then you'll be amazed how they thrive on it. all of my fish are very well colored and they grew faster on it. Don't run out once you get them on it, switching from live food back sometimes takes a 24 hr starvation, but I gutload cricket with crushed u[ pellets, he eats them, they taste kinda like pellets (According to my aro) so switching back is easy.

starve it without putting anything in there at all for about 3 - 4 weeks.. then stick the tip of your penis in there, and enjoy the sensation. : ) J/K I have no clue how to help you on this subject.. but GL

I've starved an adult aro for 3 MONTHS without it eating pellets..
sometimes they just wont.
