Hey guys i keep a single RBP and i've been feeding him fresh fish and squid and prawns since i got him at 2"

Now hes 4.5" and i want to change his diet a bit, so his coloration improves. so i gave him pellets but he wont eat it.. its been 6 days and he doesn't even touch the daily pellets!

So how long can a piranha go without eating?
Is it too late to get it to eat other food now?
whats a good type of pellets?
what are my other options?

Thank u again!

Its nice that your trying to improve your piranhas diet.. as for getting them to eat the pellets it probably woulda been better if you started that a while back.. but its not too late.. the longest my brandtii went for not eating was a month.. and thats when i first got him.. jut keep at it and he hould give in.. hes not going to wanna starve to death

I agree, just give it some time, when it gets hungry it will eat. It also helps if you use a sinking pellet because they ususally wont go to the top for food. WHen I got my spilo a couple years ago, it wouldnt eat nothing but feeders. But I kept trying different fish foods and I got it to eat cichlid sticks after a while just break em in half and let them sink, now thats just about all it likes to eat now.

i agree with what's been said already, just keep trying and he'll come around.

it took me about two weeks to get my two RBP to eat pellets _hikari gold cichlid pellets(the sinking type). just keep at it and they will eat, piranhas are stubborn when it comes to changing theirs diets. good luck

as you can see from my avitar they do wonders for their color.

they do really help with color, so that is another reason to commit to making the switch. i use hikari bio gold floating pellets and sometimes i throw some hikari gold sinking pellets in there.

you could try stuffing some pellets inside whatever you're feeding them...
