Hi am currently starving my 2 IT's (5") and 2 cambelli to ween them off live food. They have been on my tank for 1 week, and I fed live once to make sure they had some strength before the starve. I'll continue to feed frozen every other day, as all my other IT's eat it.

What's the longest I should wait? And whats the longest you have waited in the past?

Note: does any one know how to make your profile picture appear under you name? I have attached a profile JPG via the user control panel.???

just got to wait i suppose. whats your feeding regime for your tigers? did u have trouble getting them to eat frozen food? The previous owners of mine all fed live worms and shrimps all the time.

Does anyone know if feeding frozen to tiges affetcs there stability and colours, body shape etc?

Thanks

Frozen Krill is actually known to help, as well as market shrimp. Apparently there is alot of stuff in the shell that can brighten up your Dats.

I have a NGT that hasn't eaten in 6 months. He watches everyone else eat but will not eat himself. He has gotten really skinny, but I am not giving in again. Pretty much eat or die for this little guy at this point. The other NGT from the same batch is eating all kinds of pellets and is about twice his size, which shows its all in the individual fish and not entirely in the method.

I recently had a widebar go 6 weeks without eating. It is now making up for lost time.

same here man, I got 2 cambelis, the really colourful ones beating the other who's now black most of the time. Guess which is eating the most?! the bully..

Guess which is eating the most?! the bully..

my bigger st snaps at the smaller one all the time (8 and 9 inches respectively)... and its him whose mostly black but does brighten up for about 30 minutes after every water change.

they feed on frozen shrimps mostly (deshelled, just because its cheaper)

the little one is sure to eat everytime and stuff itself. the big one got hooked on blocks of bloodworms for a while and didnt eat for about a month. now it always takes the food, chews it, and has a 50% chance of spitting it back out...

try blood worm every NGT i have had loves it

i starved an old ngt of mine for 2 months to swtich it to preparred food....
