I say you did nothing wrong. You left your name and number asking to buy the tank, the neighbors said no one lives there, BANG! you got yourself a new tank. There is no need for hostilities in a situation like this. Did he understand it was a misunderstanding? If so, you had a right for what you said and did. Now he has to prove that you took it in the first place. Trust me I'm a felon and a stock tank is under a grand there for at most a class A misdimeanor in most states holding a maximum of one year in jai;; If you are a minor with no record.... Then it's juvy court and some community service and provided that there was no damage no extra restitution

But Fact of the matter is YOU NEVER took it.. He would have had to report it and the cops would have had to come and see it missing.If you or your dad said ya we had posession of it to a cop... Well that is another story.

Be lucky that it was a Redneck and they really don't care for the cops much especially if they are 99% of the time intoxicated.. upon reporting your little crime he would probably get in his car and go to jail for a real charge of which he most likely has several of
