Stealth Heaters------Warning

Just thought Id share. I bought two 250 watt Marineland stealth heaters about two months ago. After about a week I was sitting in the room and would hear this high pitch noise every couple of minutes. After looking around for quite a while I looked in my tank to see steam coming out of one of the heaters. I removed the heater and and exchanged it at Petsmart with not questions asked. After another month I was cleaning around the tank and smelled something burning. Well I looked right towards the heaters and gues what? both had steam and one of the cases was actually starting to burst. Just thought Id let you know as the end results could have been horrible,
 
Deja vu... one of these stealth bashing threads seem to be popping up here every couple days. I guess they are having SERIOUS quality control issues over at Marineland.
 
OMG same thing happened to me with these stealth heaters.

Now I use jager heaters and I dont have to worry now.

My first stealth did the same, but Petsmart would not honor the return without receipt. I sent to Marineland, and they replaced it without a problem. Second is doing fine and it's been almost a year now.
 
There is a thread on here of a stealth heaters expolding and causing the tanks to break.
 
I have 2 Stealth heaters for my 168 gallon tank and I must say that they are the best heaters I ever had.
