stealth heaters

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I haven't read the package in quite a while... but I think it suggests 15 minutes...

Whenever I take a heater out of storage and put it in a tank I make sure the tank water is consistent for at least 15 minutes before I plug it in...

If you have a package, double check... but I'm pretty darn sure that 15 minutes will work for ya...

un plugged the heaters for 15 minutes, plugged them back in, and checked the temp this morning and still no change. i will be ordering new heaters and returning these two.

It has also been noted by a few people that Stealth heaters are not particularly effective. I have 3 in my 200gl tub. The plastic coating on them is a bit of an insulator, making them slightly less effective than an aluminum or glass heater. The element may be 250W but that doesn't mean they put 250W continuous into the water. Just a thought.

That said I also have a 200gl with 2 250W stealth heaters on it, and it stays at 80, no problem.
