Faulty heaters kill fish!
Sure, you got new heaters, but two breaking within a year tells me that you may be making more of those phone calls down the road ... Customer service is nice, but they won't pay for fish that die because of a faulty heater! You were lucky yours did not suffer any damage.
Seriously, heaters are dangerous equipment to play with - if they stay ON, they can boil your fish. If they stay OFF, fish become hypothermic. I rely on quality regarding equipment that is so essential for a healthy tank.
