I have had a number of Stealths and they do alright, although a couple of them flaked out and got stuck in the ON position. I try to use two small heaters or a single heater rated just large enough in my tanks to avoid cooking my livestock.

That seems like it might be pretty common with the Stealths. Thats why I created this poll. I'd also like to know how the failure rate compares to other brands.....maybe all heaters have a high failure rate??? I just seem to notice a lot of threads where people are upset because their Stealth heater boiled all their fish.

Also, I should mention that when I created the poll I was using Stealths and my concern was that it would eventually happen to me. Guess what.....it absolutely did. I was just lucky enough to catch it in time before my water got too hot.

bleep this heater- its on my blacklist- even had a thread about it a while back. nearly boiled my fish-

freaking killed half of my CPD stock and 2 of my t. exilis catfish-

I tossed both 250w in the trash - never looked back ever since
