Don't forget to add welded lifting rings to each corner so that the crane has something to get a hold of when you move it...LOL. Other than that...sounds great...post some pics of the project.

That's just downright bad advice Wolf3101...

Everyone knows you use a forklift inside the house :D.

Can't wait to see it done and shut us all up :D.

you can deadlift 505??? well thats enough to carry one corner of the tank... you got three more friends who can do the same????

ohhh and one more thing... when you do those deadlifts at the gym do you usually walk around carrying the weight, through hallways, up stairs????

Chago09 obviously you do not know what a football workout routine is. We usually start of with pushing my coaches Explorer about 150 yards down the one way street and then come back. We do this just to get the blood flowing. After that we do the core excersizes your Squats, Bench Press, Deadlifts, Power Cleans. Then we do conditioning. Today we had to move the weightroom from the cafeteria to the new weightroom which is up on the next level. The easiest way to move the weights was to go up a 45 degree ramp. So I piled all of the 45, 35, and 25 pounds plates about 6 of each on the dolley and pushed them up the ramp. Total weight was around 600 pounds. The ramp is about 50 feet long. I did this about 5 times. Then I carried the squat rack, bench, and a couple of the rubber mats while the rest of the team did the rest. Are coach was nice enough to let us take a break from pushing his car today.;) I think that I can handle a 500 pound tank maybe not be myself but with one of my lineman buddies it will only take a few minutes to get it into my bedroom.

Then a few more to fall through the floor once its filled.. What happened to the garage?

I just think that building a tank out of 1/2'' steal is a waste of time, money and materials. You could defiantly get away with 1/4 or even smaller than that. With enough bracing and a good welder it could be done with sheet metal.

I really don't think you realize how much a steal tank would weight. Just back breaking and a waste of money.

I guess u have access to cheap steal sheets and a welder does dad own a metal shop? Otherwise i just don't understand wanting to use steel it seems a bit silly to me when we have a buch of great examples on diy plywood tanks on mfk. Wood has got to be far more effeciant to use than steel from a financial standpoint and in labor and my cosmedic concern would be ugly RUST on the outside of the tank from condensation or somthing like that.

something like this? got it from some people.. but I am too lazy to restore it.. wish you live closer, then I can give it to you for free :D

the tank is 120G, 48 x 24 x 24 :nilly:

100% metal frame!! SUPER heavy
