I'm on a little island about 10 miles off the southern end of the Panama canal in the Pacific.
Dagmar the local healer set me up with a poltis of iguana brain, bat urine, candied ginger, blew some orange smoke in my face, and slapped me 14 times. I must admit I feel pretty good today.

How many chickens did this "medical visit" cost you?
I've been jabbed by coral cats, diadema urchins, foxface and some sort of toxic spine pimelodus cat. Could not imagine getting zapped by a ray.
Luckily my insurance covered the slapping, but the bat urine and smoke are still considered experimental, so I had to trade 4 pineapples and a chicken. She said to take 2 aspirin and come back today for a few more slaps, maybe more smoke as a dengue preventive, she's so dainty in her full body tatoos and piercings, you just gotta believe she knows her sh.....
I remember when I lived in the Caribbean my cousin who was visiting me stepped on a sea urchin. I can only imagine the pain you went through. I did not get into the ocean as much as I wanted was mainly at my pool lol The fishing was the best part I had atlantic and the Carib on the island of St. Kitts.
