Stergeon catfish Rare?????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The sturgeons you're thinking of aren't catfish, they are a seperate family and yes, they prefer cold/temperate water.

That catfish is really cool, would love to get my hands on one.

yeah not a sturgeon, but a catfish ... thats one of the coolest cats ive seen, what size is your tank, somone said youll need a bigger one...i donno that looks pretty big to me. i really like the substrate too.:headbang2

The reason for the bigger tank is P. sturio's extraordinarally long barbels. It's reccomended that you have a tank equivalent to twice the length of the barbels hence the need for a bigger tank. They are not cold water and they are a catfish.

i have been told that if any cat with long whiskers can touch both sides of the tank with them at the same time it will drive them mad

i have seen this kind of cat for sale before but they all had turned up noses i always wondered if it was some kind of deformaty

how big do they get

Never heard of this one! It's awsome. How come I've never seen it, rare or something?

That is a very cool looking cat.
