for me use no chemicals,just salt,establish a good bacteria and regular 50% waterchange,if these doesnt work bare your bottom

I take it the fin rot cleared up in the 10g tank? And you stopped treatment and cleared the 10g (of meds) and no fin rot showed up?
How did you cycle the big tank?
It doesn't seem like there was even enough time to cycle let alone develope fin rot.
Could the fish have just had a relapse?

I added two fish that i know were healthy and they did not come out of the 180 before. These fish had no contact with the disease before i added them to the 180. After about a week in there, they started showing signs (fins were starting to fray). The tank was cleaned out and set back up and then cycled using bio spira. I have not detected any levels of ammonia or nitrite since using the bio spira.
