I got a stickleback in with my crappie minnows for my LMB. Should I leave him there? Wouldn't want him to get stuck in my fishes throat. He actually has some pretty cool coloration.

Don't use it as a feeder, they have been known to get stuck and kill other fish. He may also attempt to kill the other feeders being that they are a pretty aggresive species.

You should go and find my post and read about the same situation I had like you. Here's what I said so check it out.

Ok so yesterday I threw my two stickleback with the large tank with the Bass to see what would happen. I've just feed the bass so they weren't hungry anymore and there was still about 6-8 minnows in there. This mourning I woke up to noise of water splashing. It seems like the Bass were attacking the sticklebacks but weren't eating them. They would bite the stickleback and then spit them out while they didn't even touch the rest of the minnows.

Is there a reason to this, and are they trying to eat the sticklebacks or just messing with them. By watching them the Bass just seems to know that the stickleback is not minnows and are interested in testing them out. Even this mourning they ate up all the minnow but not he sticklebacks. Every now and then I would see them chasing them around but never do they swallow them. I know it's dangerous too that maybe they might get stuck in the mouth of the bass but I just don't know what else to do with them.

I was hoping they'll co-exist after the bass got bored of them but they are just bullies in this tank. Right now they are not too interested in the sticklebacks so it give me time to think of what to do with them...........maybe flush them down....

I had them in a 2.5 gallon with a small filter. It was perfect but the two gangsta's couldn't get along so I had to do what I had to do........flush....sorry.

Yeah don't use them for feeders too, but some how my bass knew they were not food and just messed with them. They are cool though but just can't keep one in a tank, that would be boring. Keep more and they'll fight like crazy.

I'm getting nice betta anyways for my 2.5 and he's the only guy that I'm willing to keep along in a tank.
