What do you use to clean the 'sticky stuff' from the price tag, off of aquarium decorations? Only thing I know that works is lighter fluid, but I don't think I should use it on something that's going into my aquarium. Please give a noob some much needed advice. TIA! :D

I use vinegar- or rubbing alcohol.

Already tried the rubbing alcohol, didn't work. Nail polish remover leaves a residue, and I couldn't get it completely off, even in extremely hot water. I will try the vinegar. :D Thanks for the fast responses! :D Will let you guys know if the vinegar works...

Hmm.. maybe try a baking soda scrub? Or use some dishsoap with sand in it?

Or, use something to scrape it off..

I keep plastic paint scrapers on hand- they would probably work.

They sell some stuff called GooGone just for this sort of thing. I use Acetone cause I use it for my fiberglass fabricating. Another thing that works great is a piece of tape like either scotch tape or packaging tape works better. Just stick it over the area and pull it up real fast. Do this repeatedly real fast it will pull off the sticky stuff.

Hhmmm.I think the reason my nail polish remover didn't work is that it's 'acetone free'. Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm sure I'll find some thing to get it off of there. Going to get some reg. nail polished remover. Really do not want to scrape it off with a blade, might mess up the finish.

Make sure to let the white vinegar soak. I used white vinegar on coraline and it took that stuff off which was completely dried on and hard at the time.Use a razor blade if flat surface or credit card like card if its not. It should come off

Someone beat me to it but Goo Gone works well for most sticky stuff I had to remove.I get it from the dollar store.
