And you're all totally sure that this Goo Gone is safe, after it's washed off really good, there's no residue that'll make my fish sick?

My husband has some of that stuff, Goo Gone, and said he doesn't think I should use it on anything I plan to put in with my fish, unless I plan on killing them! Said it's really wicked smelling, very strong stuff. ? ?
The nail polish remover with the acetone worked. Just gotta make sure there's no oily or whatever residue left on it. Also will soak my decoration stuff in a bucket of treated water over night, like I normally do. Thank you all for the help! If you get bored,... there's yet another question that I just posted.
