My Xingu I's still do not seem 100% as if they will make it. Every day one or the other is dragging along and acting lethargic. Today the bigger one is looking awful. Could I be feeding them too much. I am feeding the tank as normal, but they get to the food FIRST..lol I have separated them already due to the larger ones aggression :irked: These guys are way more agro than my sveni. My sveni is with small fish and he never ever attacks...Any advice helps :)

Still not looking good....I have not fed him today and he is still dragging quite a bit....

Thanks guys,,,,,,my pike died.....JJK he is fine, but serious, the pike section needs to be more active....This FAILS...

that sucks.....what temperature is your tank.....I know you do alot of water changes so I doubt it's water quality....If they are still eating aggressively, maybe nothing is wrong with them, they are just being lazy.....How is there color, fins, no hole in the head right? Still have fullish looking bellies?

The one who looked like he was dieing looks a little better. They both have had that stressed look fish get before they die. Kind of bouncing off the ground, and erratically rubbing their noses against the glass, in a "I think I am going to die" kind of way. I know it sounds strange, but I can tell when a fish is not going to make it, and these guys are not "in the clear" yet. The one that was getting beaten on by the bigger one looks just fine now. The bigger one is acting like he wants to die still. The temp is 82, changes are regular. On this particular tank I change 20% every three days or so. I have been adding a little salt since they have been acting funny. Do they need veggies in their diet? And I stopped feeding for 24 hours and their bellies went down to normal and they came to the top for food. Were they stressing each other out? I am very confuse and for some reason stressing out over it because I paid WAY too much money for them and it is past the return limit:( I hope they make it...

What are you feeding and do you still have them seperated. With only two in the tank it is possible that there was stress between the two. The big thing is to make sure they don't totally stop eating and fast at least once a week if not a couple. Juvenile Pikes can bloat when under 4-5". So it is good to clean out there systems.
Veggies are not necessary in there diet. Although mine don't refuse spirulina pellets when I through them in for my Viejas.

They are still separated, and I will probably keep it that way for a while. The bigger one is a menace. All of the fish he is with have damage. These guys are pretty small is fasting going to hurt them? I naturally do it with ALL of my tanks at least once a week. Should I just keep doing what I am doing? I feed Omega1, bio gold, staple, tilapia, prawns, And the occasional feeder although these guys have not had that luxury as yet.

Sounds like you are doing everything right Spizz. Temp sounds good and if the big one, that you said looks like is going to die has the energy to chase and bite tank mates, i'd say he is alright. If the appetite is still okay, that is a good sign. I don't have any suggestions....you not doing anything wrong. Just continue to keep up what your doing, how much salt are you adding? Do any other fish in your tank look 'stressed'? Is it just the pikes?

The other fish are a bit stressed from the pike. The smaller one is getting on just fine with a Cuban, 2x FM and a small female con. The bigger one is with sev's, a choc, sajica, and 2 oddball cons (short body and marbled) The cons are tiny and I feared for there lives. The sajica are taking the brunt of the abuse. I added 1 tsp per 10 gallons. I will post some pics.

A few pics of him and his mates. As you can see the sevs are fine. I was unable to shoot the sajica because they fly around all the time. In the pics he is begging for food, so I guess his appetite is still there. I think I was over feeding. Sorry about the water stained CD's ...lol I moved them finally...
