Looks like it might possible be a fully planted Angel Fish tank . 16 votes of it so far !

Was sort of was leening towards the Angel tank , too keep my Mum and Dad happy . As they were starting to say they dont just want a 2 or 3 of fish in the tank and would like alot of diffrent types of colourful fish to watch with alot of action in the tank .

And i have been having a look alot on the internet , at nice planted tanks and Angel Fish tanks and have sceen alot which have given me many ideas on how to set the tank up . :)

Some which have given me idea on how toset the tank up and what types of plants work best -

Yer may main fish that i want are the Angels , Tetras , Ram's and Pleco then after that i am not 100% sure which other fish i would get , i have an idea on a couple but still having a think on it .

5-8 Angels ( not sure how many yet , will mostly likely be small/ young ones that i get )

A few Ram ( 6 -8 )

a couple of large schools of Tetras ( not sure which type yet )

a large school of one type of Cory or 2 smaller schools of 2 diffrent types

about 5 Clown Pleco and possible a couple of small Catfish ( something like the Whiptail or Farlowella Twig Catfish not sure yet ) .

Maybe a school of Danio or Rasbora

Then if i can , possible some other fish in say about 6 months time after i have the tank setup fully .

Not saying i am going put all them fish in at the same time but after i have put the last fish in of what i know i deffantly want to get , leave the tank about 6 - 12 months and if i do see something i like see if it is ok to go in the tank too .

African Riverine Tank. With Large rock. Dense wood. Sand. Anubias.

Buffalo Head Cichlids.
Congo Tetras.
A baby Senegalus Bichir or a half dozen Ropefish.
Schilbe marmoratus catfish or some other smaller African Catfish.

Nice idea , dont think i could be able to get them type of Cichlid or Catfish tho .

any type of picture of this setup for me to have a look at , please .

The catfish was just an example of a species that might work. There are plenty of other catfish to choose from that are more commonly available.

As for the Buffalo Head cichlids, they are not rare as they are out there, they are just highly underrated in popularity. I'd be surprised if you could not sniff some out after some good searches or inquiries.

In addition to the Buffalo heads, or if they are not obtainable, Kribensis could be added or supplemented. Red Jewel Cichlids may be able to cohabitate in this size tank too.

I don't have any photos for an example of this type of tank, but here is the MFK Subforum, African Riverine & Madagascar
