I like Canada. most of the actors in STARGATE come from there. So does Neil Young. So leave Canada be. Richeard Dean Anderson. (MacGyver) LIke Canada and animals.

It does not say anywhere in the article that it was even done by an animal rights group. You people jump to conclusions really fast...it could have been just vandals trying to cause trouble. At any rate, it was a bad move...salmon farms have a bad impact regardless if the fish are free or not but setting them free only makes it worse.
I know what you mean though about the stupid animal rights groups thinking they are doing a good thing for the animals when it is in fact the worse thing they could do. I read an article about a woman who bought a bunch of lobsters and set them free...she put them in a creek and did not even take the rubber bands off. Another good example is setting animals free from testing labs. Many of the species are non-native and have no idea how to survive in the wild anyway. I don't like animal testing either but I have an equal dislike in these radical organization who know nothing about the animals and don't think of the what their actions do to wild populations and the environment.

I have an alibi for dat day. I was releasing PACU's into Lake Ontario.

That wouldn't even do anything, they would die. If you want to wreak havoc on the environment AT LEAST introduce a species that can survive the winter....jeeze, everyone knows that. :screwy:

They can survive cold weather cant they? we caught a MASSIVE pacu out of a pond here (in southern indiana) and there was still ice on top of the water.....maybe he just was released that day but he was so big i think he had to have been in there for a decent amount of time.

I wouldn't think so. Besides, I think lake Ontario gets A LOT colder then Indiana. http://www.fishbase.org reports the lowest temp. for a pacu to be 22 C (71F). Indiana does not have the winters like lake Ontario does, your state is pretty far south, maybe far south enough to keep a pacu alive for a short amount of time. I have a feeling that if they could survive they would be caught fairly often.

The next time you take medication think about how it was developed... Animal models are the only way to go.

Did you see me specify on medical or cosmetic testing? No, you didn't...don't make assumptions or jump to conclusions. Rubbing shampoo or cooking grease in the eyes of rabbits is wrong. I am not the biggest fan of medical testing either but I cannot honestly think of any other option so I stay away from that topic...its a double edged sword.
