Ok, I'm very new to the whole ray thing and I want to go over my system with you to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Tank 180 Gallon

Wet/Dry sump DelRay 240 established for three months.

Marineland C-530 No carbon or floss in it. Bio and Bio Max and foam.

Brand new substraite. Pool sand.

Turbo Twist UV SAN 18 watts rated for a 240 Gallon. 24/7

Heater are in the over flow so no risk of burns.

Pleco is leaving today, 8 inch Arwana as a tank mate.

Motoro 6 Inch Female. VERY active.

Turn over rate is just under 10%

PH Is 6.8 and Temp Is 80.

Rest off the perimiters are dead on.

Ray Is eating Night crawlers that I cut up in small pieces, she don't eat all of it so I leave the extra in the tank. Should I leave that in there or remove it? Is there anything that I'm over looking? I want to keep her around for a long time.

30% water changes weekly.

TIA

Rich

sounds pretty good but you will get this again and again from alot of people that tank wont hold her long just for your knowledge motoros grow big and fast

agreed, also you can try the pleco, sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt.... just watch and see what it does

as much as they will eat, 2-3 times a day, once she reaches the 10-12" you can cut down to once a day. Rays will stop eating when they are full

net the nightcralwer pieces out it could get all rotten and gross

I would add an extra backup heater just in case. All my tanks have two heaters....

everything sounds pretty good. i would deff take out any uneaten foods like the others said.

just watch your nitrates as the ray gets bigger.
