sting ray in 58g tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
agreed, its a bad idea regardless just like bahamaqqt said. if you cant house a fish for life in a tank that you currently have, do not buy it! regardless if its a ray, alligator gar, aro or whatever. just stick to keeping fish that you can handle in the current tank.

DIY a 500g and keep the ray there.. a perm home.. no need to shift or worry bout space.. as we all noe ther hit to at least 2' in disc size.. so yeah.. gd luck with the ray.. :D

Why would you not have mentioned the 500 gal tank of your "buddy" initially.

If your buddy wants a Ray then let him / her buy one. A 58 gal is no use for a Ray.

If the filtration is adequate and you perform regular parameter tests and water changes then a 58g could be used as a temporary tank for a motoro pup. The ray will need to be upgraded very soon and will require a very large enclosure when it gets larger. I would reccomend a larger aquarium to begin with. Make sure you are able to provide for this ray long term before you decide to purchase it. Motoros get very big and their feeding requirements can take a bite out of your wallet. :)

What do you plan on using for filtration?
