What do you think is a good fish to put in with Fresh water sting rays.

good ideas, I was going to do red bellies but I saw these rays a local place NOT for sale and I said I have to do this. I have a 125 gal tank, going to put sand down. Is sand a must? Are rays worth it?

Rays are worth it. You dont have to do sand. You can do a smooth gravel with no sharp edges or a bare bottom if you want. I prefer sand but it isn't a must. If you do go with sand make sure that it has no silica in it.
