i have play sand in my tank and all my stingray does is hide under the sand... its kinda boring.... will it keep doin this or is it just shy cuz i got him like 2 hours ago

It might be a lil's scared of the other tank mates...They do hide alot...but mine only really when scared.....other wise they search bottom for food, and play....give it time and watch it closely......might have to mve it or other fish....

I got a new stingray and I have playsand as well. First thing it did was hide and never really came out for the first three days except to eat. Now I have had it for a little over to weeks and I never see it hideing. It's always searching for food or when it sees me it stars swimming up the glass and begging for food. Just give it some time and it should start being active.

Yeah, no worries, just give him a few days to adjust to the new environment. Think of it as your first day at a new school when you were little - you didn't exactly jump right in on the first day. He just needs to adjust, check things out, and make sure he's safe. It's completly natural. Just offer him food at usual times, and don't mess with him in your attempt to see some action - this will only make him stay under longer. In 2-3 days, he will be all over the place, doing fine.

Ive got a teacup and he comes to my hand to eat. I'm not sure how smart they are but this one knows when it time to eat, and comes to the same area every tme maybe its a routine, problem now is I've got a couple of tire tracks and they come to my hand to eat also, I can sit and watch my fish for hours very relaxing
