Hello

I started hearing this little noises from the tank last night... thought the tank was creaking and cracking or something... but instead..

Trrible video, just wanted to capture what he is doing.. any ideas? I don't like it so much...

One of my leos did this alot when she was younger. But at one point she finally stopped... - she then started to toss stones on the glass, and still do :D Looks like she really wants to get out of that tank...

He's a happy ray.. so I don't know. Just started this last night, just interested if it means anything.. or if it could do anything to the tank! doing it occasionally... on and off.

What is the process like of adding for example, pool filter sand? my ray has been on bare bottom since birth, only 2-3 months old.

You do not have to do anything special just make sure the media is clean. Just dump it in the tank with the fish in it just do it slow. Rays like to chew on stuff, it is there natural behavior while looking for food. Sand or fine gravel allows them to dig and bite the substrate instead of your tank

Thanks friends. I will look into adding substrate if he keeps at it.. I don't really want to add it I will admit... but worst case I get to see how the ray enjoys it.

Cheers

Normal ray behavior in a tank if u ask me. Just for somethin to do or they like the feel maybe who knows.... Boredom ....
