Like jeffers said, retic pups wont even bring you back the money you spend on food for the pair. Better to start with motoros.

with all of the other captive breed motoros the market is surely getting saturated. retics may not be worth as much, but name me 3 retic breeders........

retics also wont eat nearly as much as the motoros.

i just hate seeing retics get such a bad rap.

hey i just bought two retics im all for them but if your going for the money retics just arent it. they are everywhere because they are the cheapest ray and very easy to get a hold of.

all that being said, they are easy to get, but as stated not many retic breeders...i have a line on a few stores that will buy from me and i will be getting motoros aswell in the future...the money isn't as important for me it was more or less just a line to get the ball rolling on my ray project...besides alot of retics and other rays that come in are not in all that great of shape from what i have read, so if i can get a quality ray to someone then they stand a better chance....as i can also tell them how to keep them...

They CAN breed all year round non stop litter after litter, but most people seperate the pair for a couple months after 2-3 litters to let the female take a break or they may die from stress. Good luck.

Wow... that worries me. I have a pair and I would hate for that to happen. Maybe I should get another female. That is just too crazy... If this were to happen, I won't even have a place to separate them.

:nilly:

this breeding project is on hold for a little while as they sent me 2 males cause they were out of females...

No matter how many CB motoros there are in the market, the price tag will never fall to the level of a retic. Its plain and simple, retics are worth close to nothing, even captive bred. Want to know why people dont breed retics? Because they dont bring in money. And actually, at the same size, my previous retics and motoros have eaten same amounts of food. And how do they have a bad rap? Just because they're not worth as much because they're more common than anything else? :screwy:

i'm in it more for the quality of fish availible in my area then the money, but i will have the more expensive motoros also in my breeding mix....

i want to purchase a breeding pair of motoros...how do they know that they[re breeding pairs. disc size is about 10"
