Stingray Disc Issues

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hmm here's an update... the condition worsened and im probably guessing it's the pleco I have in the tank. Or does these look like something else rather than bite marks? Funny thing is all my 3 other rays are fine so i doubt it will be any water parameter problem causing burns. If it's another ray biting him or the pleco sucking on his disc, why are the other 3 in perfect shape?

It may just be one of those things that the pleco only sucks on his disc and not the others. I would definitely take the pleco out and see I that helps and if the disc improves.

kinda looks like fungus is growing all over him. Have you tried pure rock salt? It's good for fungus and its supposed to be a good stress reliever for rays

hmm, removed the pleco already and when you say pure rock salt do you mean those aquarium salt in the crystal form? I always add that when I do a water change

I was generally referring to the rock salt you can buy at the supermarket. Generally, most iodine free salt should help if it is fungus

What are the sex of the other rays? You mentioned you just got him, perhaps another male ray is asserting his dominance.
