Its not really hard to get some rays from brazil then and price is compare to breeder prices much cheaper....

Price drops for sure....

maybe cheaper than c.b. rays from some places, but much much more than before. if i were a fisherman, or wholesaler, I'd want to sell them for as much as I can too...

I'll see it when I believe it. From what I can see it is getting more stringent across the
board.

Compared to who's breeder prices maybe Asia and Europe as those prices are much higher. But not compared to what I sell my pups for here in USA.

haha i dont take about prices from some crazy european breeders or in Asia.

For example you less leo pups in us market for xxxx$ and brazil prices will be in beginning xxx$ for 8" Leo. I think is a different :D. But still the shipping costs and the risk and this will be in first time big problem, i think exporters try to make fast money and ship even weak fishes.

Thats totally sure, but even compare columbian marbled prices 2 years ago with the prices now ;)

I think rays are becoming like the next "asian" arowana. the more countries ban them, the higher the prices will be. one difference is that rays breed more readily.

the asian countries like Indonesia reaped much profit from controlling and breeding the asian arowana, and keeping the prices and quality high.

I have long argued the prices of Black rays here since the ban ... And thought for along time that the breeders and (Vendors) like CSX (example vendor) Had huge outrageous prices.. And lame excuses for such prices:D

But... I have watched the things that those people go through to get pups... And it isn't like cichlids... A ray doesn't just spawn profusely. A ray does not produce 100-500 pups per spawn and every 3 weeks ... Raising rays may be simpler than they lead on ;)

But spawning and raising pups isn't.. Plus supply and demand is a good explanation.. Personally I do not like the prices.. But I feel after the last few years of watching and studying what the guys breeding these are going through; and have went through, that the prices are COMPLETELY justified ;)

To end.. All You Breeder/Sellers that I have given hard time over the prices and excuses.. I apologize ;) This doesn't mean I will start being nice :) I am still JEALOUS and may still hate on ya a little :D But now it will be just given ya a hard time :D

Glad to see people realizing this is not all profit and glory. Breeding rays is very expensive and stocking a facility with top quality animals is nearly impossible and so very expensive. Hating is fine even I hate sometimes ;)

If they release the rays from Brazil ,by the time maybe Mike have moved ahead of them by using artificial insemination.:D
