Stingray Export Ban cancellation

I really think this is just the same old rumor but even if it does go through I do not see prices dropping very much. As Mike said it is going to be difficult to get any into the States at all. I think even if it did happen a relatively small number of people/breeders would buy the total supply so it would still be in their hands to decide price.

Bottom line... I dont think we will ever see Leopoldi or black rays being a buyers market in the US.. it will always be a sellers market and he who holds the ray will set the price period
 
I bet they will be back. This has been done once before. With in a few years prices will drop. As With all the breeders now. The demand will become lower. Some nice new blood would be nice!
 
Here we go again and I will awnser it again. Their will be talks end of the year december beginning januari about small numbers. Again just TALKING. Believe me if their was a small part of the trade believing this I would have a big stock of pups. But I don't.

We will see...., but like Brad said.. they have done this before... WE all now this is a game----- and they are playing it their best...

Cant wait to get some black rays... here in the near future.....
 
I've heard from some of the exporters that they've been hearing these rumours as well; but they've also been hearing them quite a bit in the past with nothing happening. Only time will tell. It would definitely be a pipe dream if it were to happen!
 
The rumors are being fabricated by asian stingray breeding farms to fluctuate prices, demands, and using scare tactics/propaganda in order to maximize profits..

I've heard of one major black ray importers in asia taking "pre-payments" for black rays every time one of these rumors presents itself... coincidence?
 
do you guy really think their will be a price drop even if the ban is lifted

the days of cheap black rays are gone spend your money or dont have black rays its as simple as that
 
It depends on how the ban is lifted, if it is at all. If it is lifted totally, of course the price will drop! Now they wont be had for $300 any more but Id be surprised if they were over $750.
