Stingray for 75 gal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
trust me man, don't get rays until your big tank is ready. It is too easy for there to be a problem with your custom 240, especially since it is such a long time away. Maybe you can get by with the dats, but forget the arows, rays, and ecats.

I started wit my One ray in a 75 gal. It out grew it in 8 months. Water changes twice a week. I would start with a bigger tank.

Holy crap, that stocklist!!! Thats suicide, no homocide, man, of the pisciv-irst degree! I would get some african cichlids, there thats a nice setup for a 75 gallon tank.

Wow I don't even think that would work in a 240. It would certainly be pushing it.

yea, i know how you really want a bigger tank but dont do it, i was pissed at my parents when they wouldnt let me bring my 300 home from school when i got my internship, i ended up getting a 150 for my rays and arowanna so i can keep them until i move back to school, and trust me... the 150 is still to small for the rays,

if you get a black aro even better they grow slower

That's not true at all. Not until after they each reach a foot, then the Black one will slow in growth more then the Silver.

Yea i want a sting ray badly. I dont know. what about if i only keep stingrays in the 75 gal. Just pups? i can make the water quilty perfect for them.
Leave the big fish. If you constrain their movement you will induce chronic stress and that causes all kinds of problems. Rays need space to move.
I think that your primary concern should be the health and well-being of any fish you buy, and not what species you would like best. I'm getting a 95 gallon tank and I'm not putting Tropheus in that because I think it's too small for them, even though I would love to have those.

What kind of tropheus? I don't think a 95 would be bad for a tropheus duboisi community.
