Is a 55 big enough to hold a 6" disc motoro for a few weeks and a 90 for the first year?

I would not put one in a 55 gallon ever,but you could make it work I guess for a couple weeks.

I can't set up my 240 until I get into my new house don't trust this apartments floor. I got a 90 so realistically he would only be in it for a max of 6 months.

90 is minimum for a few month assuming the ray is 6 inches or less with an 18 inch width tank.

55 is fine for pups with adaquate filtration. All new pups I have gotten go in a freshly setup 55 for a month at least before going in larger systems. Never had any issues. Just stay up on WC and dont let parameters go to crap.

Depends on the ray and feeding schedule for being in a 90g for a year. My 2 Motoros outgrew my 90g within 7-8 months.
