Stingray help??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks guys for all the input, I have put a guard onto the heater and feeding him earthworms with garlic guard...I feed him 3 times a day and will still do 25-30% weekly...

He is eating well so hopefully I can add some weight onto him and he will be better soon

How long have you had it? Just wondering if it may have been wc, maybe it could have parasites keeping it from bulking up if it is already eating? It’s a good sign if it is eating because it would be easier to treat if that is the case.

I have had him about 5 months now +-, it’s not wc I got him from a breeder... I started using something called “Heal All” by bio-elite which the lfs recommended so hopefully he gets better soon

Clean water, salt and food will hopefully fix this ray.

Rays love frozen shrimp and fish they are quite nutritious, not sure how it compares to earthworms though.

I had a newly bought ray that was also malnourished and on the brink of death...got her back up with frozen shrimp and smelts.

Earthworms are like steroids for rays:)

What was your parameters before wc? What are they now? Got anything buffering the hardness keeping the ph stable? Any major changes in water temperature?

If people gonna be able to help you we need to know your parameters. Ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.
