Hey everyone, I just noticed this red lump at the bottom of my male stingray, could anyone tell me what could it be?

TIA

The pics aren’t very well focused but it looks to be more like and erosion/abrasion vs a lump. Does it protrude or is it flat?
If the area was more central I’d say it maybe a prolapsed anus, but it’s kinda left of center…but it could be a prolapse still. It has the pink coloration of bowel mucosa…
Is he eating normally?
What do you feed him?
Any new foods?
Is he still pooping normally? How often?
What kind of substrate is in his tank?
Tank mates? Any big plecos?
Sorry, more questions than answers atm 🤷🏻‍♂️

it’s like a lump, when he swims up on the glass it expands and contracts.
His eating normally, pellets, earth worms and shrimp. I haven’t seen him poop in a while. I have fine river sand in the tank.

His with a female ray and an Asian arowana. No plecos in the tank

Can you post a clear video of it expanding & contracting?
This sound more like a prolapsed anus then. Possibly from straining to poop from being constipated 🤷🏻‍♂️
Can you dissolve some Epsom salt, inject it into an earth worm for him to eat?

This is a prolapsed anus, hold on feeding for a couple days and hope it sucks back in. If you can find it put some solar naturals salt crystals in as well (blue and white bag). 1 cup per 100 gallons. If it’s still alive in a couple days feed lightly and make sure its small pieces for the next couple weeks. Even if he’s still searching for food it’s very important to not overfeed while he heals up.

50/50 chance on survival unfortunately. Ive had personal experience with a ray having it. She recovered luckily but seen others have a ray pass away within 24hrs. Just depends on how strong the ray is and how bad the prolapse is. Fortunately this one doesn’t look terrible. Hopefully he recovers.
