Alright so I want to get a stingray because they are just so beautiful and relaxing to watch (as in most fish)

Can I have a stingray or 2 in a 150?

I will be getting one soon to upgrade from my 55.

The 1 fish that is a certain going in there is my BGK

The other fish I was considering are pictus catfish, clown Loaches, Congo Tetras, and redline rasboras...

So is there a stingray I could have once I buy the 150? And would it live with the other fish? Also are there some sort of gloves so that if I accidentally touch the ray I don't get injured by him/her?

Thanks

Not a good idea...stingrays get hige, and produce an insane amount of waste in the form of ammonia. Not only will a stingray quickly out-grow a 150, it would pollute the water too fast to be able to manage. For a reference, I attached a photo of one of my rays that is less than two yeats old. She's in an 8 foot long, and nearly 4 foot front to back tank. As you can see she fills this large tank right up! And she has a lot more growing to do!0227182322a.jpg

Well then thank you for the info I will be getting a stingray

Oh my goodness!
I will NOT be getting a stingray!
The dumb phone did not read what I wrote for a second!!! Sorry

Well I am already stretching myself thin getting this tank

You’ll be surprised how much more you can stretch. That’s how we all started.

I say stretch some more and get a ray!

Get a male pup for your 150 . It could be in there a long time before outgrowing it. By that time you will be sure if you want to invest in a bigger tank. Most everyone recommends starting with a 8'x4' footprint but I bet few started out that way. I would advise against having more than a VERY limited number of tank mates.

Get a male hystrix if you can find one.... it's your best bet for smallest ray.... he should be fine in a 150 for a while as long as your water quality is kept up and filteration is on point. I would add as big of a sump as you can to the 150 and get an overflow box if you tank isn't drilled the extra filteration and water will help

What about a mini marble montoro male, don't they stay below 12"?
