I have 5 discus,5 rays and many cardinals all in one tank. The rays and discus are fine together.

I keep the rays very well fed so they won't chase the tetras.

i've seen you tank and all i can say is wow i've seen all 150 pages on db multiple times

It's just not going to happen with any amount of plants raysdig in substrate and they will dig them up fast no matter how many you have

Discus may work when the rays are small but don't under estimate the power of a large ray you discus are living on borrowed time

Not many mid water fish are safe with a ray 10 inch +

As for keeping them well fed large rays kill for fun not always for food my rays just killed a 12 inch tinfoil barb for fun they always do it when the lights are out
what if i got 1 and gave/sold it to someone if it gets to agressive

your plants will be uprooted. you could try fake plants and anchor them to the bottom with a sheet of plexiglass or lighting covers and zip ties.

I always think not much point in getting any fish you are thinking about selling before you have even got it

It's not a case of if it starts killing fish more a case of when

It's a choice you will have to make plants and discus or rays

T1 is right. they migh work for a short time but eventually everything in that tank has a good possibility of disapearing. as far as reburying everything as well would be a hassle on the plants

You could try planting java moss or anubias onto some drift woods. Moss balls or other floating plants could work too
