Assuming good husbandry practices by the owner, what is the normal lifespan for a freshwater stingray in captivity?

In other words: I've had my P. histryx 9 years. Assuming he was perhaps 6 months-1 year of age when I adopted him (he was about 1" shy of his full adult disc size), how much longer will I likely be able to enjoy is companionship?

Three cheers for a devoted, long term ray owner. Great job taking care of it.

l'm reviving this old thread because I'd love to know what current thinking is. How long do freshwater stingrays live in captivity (assuming good husbandry of course)? Google has not been very helpful.

I know of rays 25yrs+ of age. I personally have a marble @9.5 yrs old.

Wow! 25+ years! That’s dedication!
Kevin Wai mentioned in one of his videos that one of the huge female Hens he believes is around 25. I thought Aquaman had some pushing 20 or so

That is amazing.. awesome...
I hope more of our older ray keepers share with us... I would also love to know how many oldies we have out there

Thank for the info! I have some motoros that are pushing 11, so I'm delighted to know they're not geriatric!
