hi i have a teacup sting ray, had it for about 7 weeks, wen i first got it would not eat at all, now it eats about like 1 or 2 ghost shrimps, and swims around like its dancing back and forward really fast trying to catch something wen nothing is der, wen it does catch something it kills not eating it and moves on trying to catch the rest. how do i know if the ghost shrimp are to big, because i do ask for the smallest 1s, iv tried blood worms and it ignores dem totally, it is skinny because i can its bones at the back next to its legs wat i do..it seems like its playing with the food

it is worrying because its just started feeding after such a long time....

should i keep on trying different foods in everyday or stick to shrimps....

try live blackworms, thats a great starter food for young rays. The quick movement might be something more serious. look into dosing the tank with a prazi pro, that's a great parasite med that is good for use with rays.

i will try that, how often you think i should feed it... i gave it shrimp i c it eat two and kill three in the morning you think i should try blackworms 2mow,or iv got live bloodworms already, should i try that again.

usually ray dont say no to worms. As long as you have it on the bottom then they will come for it. Since worms is small so you might need to turn off the filter when feeding so all the worms can land on the bottom. It is best to get it on shrimp or prawn instead of worms but since its not eating so try blood worms, earth worms and black worms and feed them the shrimp as well.

hi i tried bloodworms and i could tell if it was eating, i got the smallest 1st i could, 2mm long, wer about is the belly of the sting ray..........still looks skinny to me

i also done a quarter water change and checked the ph it was ok, every-time i do a water change it gets stressed because it starts swimming up and down the glass. i use ro water, i dont understand because i thgt dey like water changes, and im only doing 25% just to ensure dat im not changing the water parameters too much hence allowing it to get stressed even more, but for some reason it does. swims around alot, wen resting it does it away far as possible from the bloodworm, it doesn't even go after dem, like it goes after the shrimps. i dont understand it at all/ some1 please reply...........

How big is the tank and how is your filtration? Is it wild caught? Ammonia level can be high or it has a parasite.

My teacups would not except anything but cut up earthworms. You might want to try that.
